RFC is the term recognized in the Internet world for a series of
documents containing technical and organizational notes defining
de facto standards for the Internet. Topics include many aspects of
computer networking including protocols, procedures, programs,
concepts, meeting notes and opinions and more. Virtually all Internet
protocols are defined in RFC documents.
As a general "answer" to customers' frequent questions about the
Internet and Internet technology, we've selected common RFC topics and
placed them in the table below for your reference. Information on RFCs
is available from various sources online such as http://www.rfc-editor.org.
Simply note the RFC number and you can do a search on sites such as
RFC-Editor for more detailed information. RFCs can also be researched
at http://www.ietf.org/rfc.html.
